’The Storyteller’ - Memorable Books from My Childhood

The Wringer by Jerry Spinelli
Hop on Pop by Dr. Seuss
The Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle
Cinderella by Walt Disney
Is Your Mama a Llama? by  Deborah Guarino

The Wringer, by Jerry Spinelli is about a boy who lives in a town where once a year the folk catch birds and wring their necks. It's a traidtion in the neighborhood, and when boys turn 13 then have to wring a crow's neck. When his burtday came, he had to do that, but he didn't want to because he thought it was cruel. This book caught my attention because it's a sad story, but everything turns out for the best in the end. The people understand his reasons. This book also appealed to me because there was action, for example, when the boy gets in a fight.
